In this week-long workshop, participants will explore the different styles of staging, read and analyze short plays, and create a set design from scratch, through sketching, model-building, and rendering. We will also touch on other scenic elements such as lighting and costuming
In this two-week workshop, participants will read and analyze Shakespeare’s haunting tragedy, Macbeth. With a focus on understanding the text, participants will discuss the play’s complex characters and themes and work toward staging selected scenes. A showcase of scenes from the play will occur on Friday, November 6 at 6:00 PM.
This week-long workshop will give participants the tools needed to write monologues and scenes. By reading short works, discussing the various components of playwriting, and using improvisational exercises, each participant will create a short play.
