A Bob Warren Cabaret - February 10 at 7pm
Bob Warren and special guests are back! Joining him this year are Take 2, Huxtable, Christensen and Hood, Michael Jerling, and The Men o’ War Balladeers. This year’s show offers an entirely new line up of songs that will warm your heart.
A little bit about the Special Guests:
A winner of the prestigious “New Folk” competition at The Kerrville Folk Festival, Michael has been a noted artist on the club, college, and festival circuits of North America since 1975. His rich baritone voice is backed up with consummate skill on six and twelve string guitars, harmonica and mandolin, all buoyed by his dry sense of humor.
Huxtable, Christensen, and Hood
Teresina Huxtable, Carol Christensen and Liz Hood sing popular music of five centuries, including traditional music of the British Isles and North America, Renaissance songs, sheet music standards, doo-wop, Western, and original tunes. Known for their tight vocal harmonies, often a cappella, plus their inventive arrangements, they have been favorites with audiences in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions for years.
The Men o’War Balladeers
The Men o’ War Balladeers is a traditional music band and vocal group based in Cambridge, NY. Its five teen members have been singing traditional North American and Celtic ballads for the past year. With a repertoire ranging from room-filling, five-voice sea shanties to delicate, solo love ballads, they perform across the capital district at assisted livings, breweries, churches, libraries, and their beloved Hubbard Hall. Rise with the Moon, their debut album was released just last month.
Ron Comstock and Kim Britton have been singing together for years and it shows! You hear it in the tightness of their vocal blend, two voices rising and falling as one. When you add their contagious and fun energy to the mix, it is an experience not to be missed. With a soon to be released debut album in the works, these veteran performers are at the height of their game.
