About Seagle Music Colony
Seagle Music Colony is the oldest summer vocal training program in the United States. The not-for-profit organization is administered by three year-round staff and seasonally staffed by professionals from the fields of opera and vocal training. A Board of Directors consisting of local and regional professionals oversees the organization.

What They Do
Their summer program is a nine-week session in which 32 young artists, with an average age range of 20-26, are selected through a rigorous national audition/selection process, receive intensive training in vocal technique, musicality, acting and career preparation. As part of this training, they produce five full-scale productions of opera and musical theatre each summer season for presentation to the public. Touring locations in upstate New York include Lake Placid, Bolton Landing on Lake George, Glens Falls, Ticonderoga, Chestertown and North Creek. Beginning in 2012 a fall-season community engagement program was added, which keeps five artists in residence through mid-October. The program brings additional touring performances to regional audiences, including in-school children’s opera programs in elementary schools throughout the North Country region.
