Hubbard Hall Youth Theater presents Page to Stage, a two week-long playwriting workshop. Participants will spend the first week writing and devising their own short plays and scenes, and the second week bringing them to life on the Hubbard Hall stage! First we will focus on the craft of playwriting, experimenting with writing techniques, character and environment exploration, authorial intent, dramatic storytelling, and structure structure. The second week will be devoted to rehearsing and staging the written material (including scenes, monologues, and short plays). Students will have a chance to explore production elements including direction and stage management as well as (minimal) costume and set design. The two weeks will culminate in a workshop performance of the original pieces, each written, devised, and produced by the participants. Virginia May Edinger will conduct the program, having recently run similar programming for 8 weeks with 7th and 8th graders at Hoosick Falls Central School.

Minimum 6 participants fully paid.
